How does one get SEO, CRM, CMS, Social media and web update experience?

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Id like to get this experience but don’t know where to begin. I appreciate suggestions and professional advice.

The best job I can think of that intersects all 5 markets would be to find a sales or business development job / internship in a medium – large sized SEM / Digital agency.

Most mid-large agencies use CRM to track client relationships. And if you’re selling SEM / Digital marketing, you’re bound to have to learn about SEO, Content Management Systems, social media and Web updates.

On the flip side, if you want hands-on experience with SEO, CMS, Social Media and Web updates, you’d be better off joining a small digital agency where they wouldn’t have groups of employees specialising on each of those, but instead would have a handful of people doing it all. And there you could liaise with sales persons to learn about CRM.

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

i know the meaning of it, but how it helps us in web marketing strategies . .

Social Networking is just another way of spreading the word about your website, you can setup a page for your business, the more places your business / website is seen with links to your website the better it is for allowing people and search engines to find your website, services and products.

Internet Marketing + Traffic Question?

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Hi, I need to get 33 visitors per day to my (first) website, for my goals to be reached, is that a lot, normal, or a little? I have been studying internet marketing for about 6 months now, but I never had the time to start my own website, but now I have, so if I know this much, do you think that I will be able to get 33 visitors per days?
I will be doing social media marketing, I will pay affiliates to promote my website, some SEO, and article marketing. Do you have any tips?

Thank You!!!!

Just do it what you know and set a time limit to reach your goal. It is about one small milestone at a time.

Thinking about wanting to do something is easy. Keep browsing everyday reading this and that is easy. Making a plan is almost easy. It is the action part of going thru the plan and dealing with our emotion after getting the result is not the easy part. Try doing that if you want to know what I mean. And only then you know whether you got what it takes.

Some people only notice this about them after a few years. Others won’t even notice it because they just quit. So it is better to know about it quicker.

Internet Marketing for new site?

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

I have set up a new website (talk-it-over.co.uk) which is basically an online and telephone consultancy offering confidential and impartial advice to people’s personal and business problems. I am looking at ways to market this on the Internet. I’m going down all the usual channels i.e. social media, blogging, submitting articles with a signature, forums etc. but really I need to try and pinpoint the people who would specifically need my service – those more in the 25+ range,I think – and who would be willing to pay for such a service (although my fees are very affordable). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

I guess you already know what are the best ways to market your website online, however I suggest you to consider SEO (for long term) & Google Adwords (for instant lead).

If we talk in terms of Online Marketing, it’s an long process and you need to plan for each activity phase by phase to target your audience.

If you want to learn or know more about SEO or SEM (Online Marketing Strategies) visit http://www.afzalkhan.org

You can also plan or do all such things by your own but it is always suggested to outsource such skills and you better concentrate on making your business succesfull.

Good Luck!

Regards
Afzee

Can Social Media Marketing replace Search Engine Marketing as a viable way for companies to market online?

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

I "Stumbled Upon" www.FtheBigThree.com which does a good job of showing the opportunities that could be available for marketers in the "Social Media" category. Not completely sold yet on it but kinda warming up to it. I guess I’ll have to start learning SMM to go along with my SEM and SEO. So, many abbreviations….so little time.

NO — they can work hand in hand, but social media marketing cannot replace search engine marketing

Search engine’s usage is far way more than social media use. Plus traffic from search engines are more sustainable and longer term, while social media traffic is more sporadic.

If you get a top placement for a keyword in Google, for example, you can expect that to continuously give you traffic until someone else topples you from the top spot — and that is not always easy to do unless you made a huge mistake or the search engines changed their algorithm.

You can get a huge burst of traffic from social media sites such as Digg — only if your link is in the homepage. Once your link is pushed to the archives, traffic dries up.

social media sites depend on the FRESHNESS of the information, while search engine sites depend on the RELEVANCE of the site to the search query and that gives an edge to older pages

For a savvy marketer, he/she needs to utilize and maximize both venues to get the most traffic. The two should work hand in hand, and not one over the other.
